About Ashley

Hi!  I’m Ashley and I’m a work in progress…this is my blog (also a work in progress) that has become a place where I can pull out all of the pent up thoughts/feelings/experiences in my head and put them on “paper” and in the process finally learn who was buried underneath them all.

My blog doesn’t have a central “theme” or anything; it’s just a collection of stories about me, my family, and my life.  I want my kids to be able to read stories about themselves when they get older and I want a place where I can document my own stories and travels through life.

  1. Ashley, you have a beautiful family 🙂

I’m so glad you stopped by my place last night, because this gave me a chance to check out yours 🙂

It can be tough finding your own inner voice and especially finding the strength to use it openly and clearly. As you stated correctly, this medium makes it easier.

To me, it’s also the possibility to get neutral feedback on things that are important to me. What I mean is that sometimes when you discuss things with your family and friends you won’t get an honest answer. Not because they are lying to you, but simply because they can’t see you objectivly.

    I cherish that. 🙂

I’ve actually forged a couple of relationships over time, which I never would have thought possible. There are a couple of people here, who are so incredibly supportive, it’s ridiculous. Those are the people that make this experience worth while.

I remember when I first started I was a bit lost, so I thought I would point you to some blogs and especially bloggers, who are very welcoming (and their posts – each in their own right – make for excellent reads):

    – Childhood Relived (when parenting and nostalgia collide)
    – Good Humored by Paprika von Furstenburg
    – Susserative Aspirations (Perfunctory Probability Permutations)
    – The Heartbreak Of Invention (Life as Contraption)
    – Worrywarts Guide to Weight, Sex and Marriage

All of those blogs can be found on my blogroll on the right side of my blog

In any case, I will be following you now, so I’m sure we’ll be seeing each other around 🙂

    Please stop by again

    🙂 K.

    1. Thank you so much for taking the time to write! You are right, there are some people who are really genuinely supportive. It’s good to know that there are people out there that treat complete strangers like that. And I am still lost, so i will check out the blogs you mentioned. 🙂

  2. Hello Ashley- just wanted to let you know that I think you have a beautiful family and if you don’t mind I’m going to follow your blog and Project 365. I am trying to a do a photo a day myself and was looking about for some other people to inspire me and keep up my motivation, so that’s how I came across the link to your blog. I laughed at your story of trying to take the photograph of the rain- definitely sounds like something that would happen to me too!
